 Tory Mason: A Fan's EncounterJames Withers sent in this story to me about his chance meeting with Porn Star Tory Mason and I just love it! Because it involves a porn star there should be a pool or at the very least a large spacious bedroom. One night a few months back, I was standing at my watering hole, drunk as usual. The establishment calls itself a gay sports bar. No there are not any go-go boys dancing in jockstraps, although no one would really complain if they were added. I’m there looking at some game. I turn to the guy next to me and it’s Tory Mason, or at least someone who really really looked like Mason through my vodka and cranberry haze. Initially I dismissed the thought out of habit because I’ve come not to pay attention to drunk thoughts; however, another quick glance confirmed that no matter how much booze I had Mason was standing next to me. Let’s get the cliché out of the way. He is way shorter than I expected. I never assumed he was NBA height, but I his tiny-ness surprised (and no that’s not a deal maker). After that initial observation the drunk James wanted to lean over and say, “I know you and you are so fucking hot.” However, the well-mannered James, the proud geek whose parents raised him to be polite, just held his drink and tried not to stare. He was there by himself. As a civilian I’m always assuming Porn Stars have their pick of dates and cuddle buddies and never go to bars alone on a Saturday night. That’s a silly idea of course because it assumes the vagaries of a dating life leave once you begin filming sex. Sure the pools are nice, but let’s be honest. There is little between the world of porn and the real world that match. Has anyone really had sex with a pizza boy? Everyone from the attractive little lad who has a reputation as an aggressive bottom to a cranky hack who drinks too much have to somehow deal with getting a date. I’m not sure if that is comforting or not. Mason turned and I acted like I was into the game. He was soaking up the scene or looking for someone to bed down. His trademark smile appeared briefly. If you’ve seen him in action, and I know many of you have so no fronting please, you know the look. It’s a brief smile as if he has a secret and he’s trying to decide if you need to know. With no further ado he left and walked out the door. I couldn’t tell if others recognized him and a part of me thought the booze was at fault for this mirage. But at the end of the night, when I was going home, I changed the whole evening. I spoke to him, he said he found mediocre writers extremely hot, and my studio apartment was transformed unto a large city duplex. And Tory had that smile on his face the whole time we did it.
