News Brief:  ISIS Brutally Executes a Man Accused of Being Gay in Iraq

ISIS has publicly executed another man accused of being gay by throwing him from a rooftop in northwestern Iraq.

The young man was convicted of being “a homosexual” in the Nineveh province after being detained.  The victim is the latest of dozens of men perceived to be gay to have been executed by the militant group.

ARA News Network published the story, which has not been independently verified, showing footage of the man being thrown to his death.  According to the report, a crowd had gathered, who threw stones at the man’s body after he had hit the ground.

“The young man was brutally thrown from the top of a tall building in front of dozens of people,” a local media activist told ARA News.”

In the video of the execution, a member of ISIS says, “Those who dare to oppose Allah’s Sharia and the Caliphate’s rules deserve punishment.”

Such punishment is often the result of Shariah law being carried out by “judges” or “courts,” which decide whether the accused is guilty.
